Buying a family home can look straightforward on paper. In reality, when you are juggling full-time work, school logistics and busy weekends, even getting through the front door of the right property can feel like a challenge.

For one family searching on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, the brief was clear. The path to getting there was not. After two years of watching the property market, trying to make sense of price guides and struggling to find the time to search properly, they reached the point where they needed a different approach. What happened next changed everything.

A brief shaped by family life

With three kids, travelling up and down the North Shore line every day, location was important to us. We needed to be close to transport for both work and school. We wanted a home where we could entertain, where the kids had space to hang out with friends, and, ideally, a pool.

Why searching alone stopped working

My wife and I had been watching the market for about two years. Price guides are confusing, things move quickly, and we didn’t feel confident enough to assess a home’s worth. On top of that, we simply didn’t have time to search. We both work full-time, and our weekends are already packed with kids’ sports and family commitments.

Bringing in the right strategy

Brook came highly recommended by a colleague, so we decided to reach out. From the first meeting, she struck the right balance. Personable and strategic. Within four weeks, she had found our home. After two years of trying to figure it out ourselves, it was incredible how quickly things came together once she took the lead.

Auction day was intense. There were around six other bidders, and it could have easily spiralled. Brook was calm and completely in control. She knew how to read the room and when to step in. Our new home was within our budget, and ticked every box we’d hoped for.

From out of reach to possible

Looking back, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today without her. What felt out of reach suddenly became possible. We’re so grateful she was able to help.
